Europe’s largest shopping centre – MetroCentre Newcastle

Hello everybody!

With over 340 stores the intu Metrocentre in Gateshead (Newcastle upon Tyne suburb) is a shopaholic’s paradise. Europe’s largest shopping centre is known for its popular retail stores, restaurants and entertainment complex.

Intu Metrocentre opened its gates in 1986 and has gradually expanded over the years to include more shops, restaurants, an IMAX cinema and a large entertainment complex.

For those of you who want to spend a whole day and evening shopping till you drop and eating till you pop, here’s my little guide to the metrocentre.

The shopping centre is divided into the quadrants with many many shops inside, such as Forever 21, Debenhams, New Look, Schuh, Zara, All Saints, Levis, Next, H&M, Apple, Clintons, River Island, Radley, Clarks, Pandora, Claire’s, Footlocker, Van Mildert, JD Sports, L’Occitane, Starbucks, Primark, Windows, Top Shop, Top Man, Burton, Dorothy Perkins, Vodafone, Accessorize, Holland and Barrett, Currys PC World, Samsung, O2, Oasis, Handmade Burger Co, Pizza Express, Wagamama, Nandos, Gourmet Burger Company. YO! Sushi, Marks and Spencer,  TK Maxx, Homesense, Build-a-Bear, Simply Clintons, Quiz, Poundland, Bodycare, Bodyshop, Disney Store, Paperchase, USC, Beaverbrooks, Fossil, Jack Jones, Office Shoes, H&M Kids, Warehouse and many many more.

The Metrocentre is located three miles south west of Newcastle upon Tyne on the A1 west of Gateshead. It’s open seven days a week with late-night shopping Monday to Saturday. Travelling there is easy with almost 10,000 free car parking spaces, a bus depot, a train station and a coach park which can accommodate up to 350 coaches.

The Metrocentre is not just a place to shop as it has over 50 restaurants which are open later into the evening, every day of the week. There is something for everyone, whether it is a night out, pre-cinema meal or just catching up with friends.
