Leipzig prides itself with the largest and second oldest Christmas market in Germany, a tradition that dates back to 1458. Located in front of the Old Town Hall, in the city’s historic center, Leipziger Weihnachtsmarkt greets its visitors with over 250 glowing stalls, full of fascinating holiday gifts and delicious foods. It´s a magical place bursting with culture, history, and traditions, where is plenty of seasonal entertainment to enjoy, including daily trumpet fanfares, Christmas concerts held by the world famous St. Thomas’s choir, and performances of Bach’s Christmas Oratorio in the city’s numerous churches, leaving the audience enchanted with every performance.You can rediscover the charm and nostalgia of an “old time Christmas” and enjoy the wintry landscape in the town, where visitors are offered a multitude of festive delights: indulge in numerous culinary delights or explore the city’s traditional medieval market.
