Visit a national park full of features and bears all around you in a clean environment that is coincidentally just a few kilometers from the sea can be a pleasant idea for people for whom the week burning on the sun and swimming in the sea too much.It’s sufficient to go only 15 km north east of the great city of Rijeka.
The are of NP Risnjak is park of mountain massif Gorski Kotor. The highest point of the park is Veliki Risnjak which is 1528 m high. Along with the massive follow-up Snježnik (1506 m ) form the core of the park and a natural barier between coastal and inland park of Croatia.
Title of park is derived from just one interesting animal which lives there – lynx (in Croatian ,,ris”). Furthermore you can see deers, foxes, badgers, wolves, bears… There’s also a home for bird species (grouse), snakes (including poisonous). Flora is diversed with a regard to altitude. You can find there a vegetation with coastal character, but also a mountain character (sycamore, yew…)
You can get there by main road from Rijeka. It’s apx 15 km northeast from Rijeka on Istria peninsula.
Bear on rest stop. If you will see a bear, go slow to the nearest trees and hide there.
